Building Trust, One Sample at a Time

Building Trust, One Sample at a Time

Keto Kitchen Diaries – July Week 3

This past week, I reached out to several Toronto-based influencers through Instagram. I invited them to try a sample box of my sugar-free, gluten-free keto sweets — handmade with clean ingredients — and asked them to share their honest thoughts in a post or story.

Some were excited. Some said yes.
But when delivery day came… nothing.
No replies. No messages. No answers.

That was hard.

I had put so much love and effort into preparing the samples. And since I don’t have a big freezer, storing extra sweets is stressful. I just kept looking at them, thinking: “These were meant to be tasted. Not wasted.”

Worse, a few influencers who first agreed to try them freely suddenly asked for high payments. One of them even quoted $1,000 for a single post. Honestly, it hurt. Not because I don’t value their work, but because I’m just starting out — building something meaningful, and hoping to connect through honesty, not transactions.

Still, I didn’t give up.

Today I personally delivered two boxes. One to a lovely girl named Erin, whose pink flower-filled home felt like a fairytale. And another to someone from ToDoToronto page — she welcomed me with kindness, accepted the box on time, and made me feel seen. Those small interactions kept me going.

Right now, I’m waiting.
Will they post something?
Will it go viral?
Will someone tag me?
Will I get my first real follower from it?

I don’t know.

All I know is that I currently have just 190 followers — and every single one matters.
I'm trying to grow this page organically. Slowly. Authentically.
I want people to find me not through ads, but through stories. Through trust.
Through understanding what this diet really is — and what it can heal.

Because this isn’t just about sweets.
It’s about helping people realize what they’re putting into their bodies every day.
It’s about offering an alternative to the sugar, the toxins, the invisible damage.
It’s about starting a conversation — even if it begins with just one cookie.

I’m looking for the people who need this.
People who are sick, tired, inflamed, or just want to feel better.

Who finds me first?
Who becomes my first customer?
Who takes that first bite and tells a friend?

I don’t know yet.
But I believe they’re out there.
And they’re looking for something just like this.
